Salt Cam is one of Turkey s long-established architectural and residential glass trading and processing companies. We have our headquarter located in Mersin, a province and a port in southern Turkey on the Mediterranean Coast. Entering into the glass business 100 years ago, the company was entitled as Authorized Dealer of Şişecam in 1965. We have established the first glass processing factory in the Mersin Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone. Today, Salt Cam has one high-tech plant in Tarsus with 44.500 m2 closed area and also a warehouse in Mersin with 2.500 m2 closed area. In these two state-of-the-art glass processing factories, the company features a wide range of architectural, residential and modern safety glass products, superior manufacturing technologies and excellent service. Salt Cam is able to offer their customers all types of aluminium spacer bars, architectural glass, residential custom glass like table tops and glass shelves, coated solar control glass, laminated, tempered (flat and curved), bullet resistant, decorative, sand-blasted, digital and screen printed glass, shower doors and custom mirrors. Also we offer our customers a wide range of insulating glass materials, glass doors and accessories, glass balcony systems, Salt Door automatic sliding door systems and photocell doors.
Tempered glass is a type of glass that has been strengthened through a special heating and cooling process. During this process, the glass is heated to high temperatures and then rapidly cooled. This procedure increases the glass s durability and ensures that if it breaks, the fragments are less sharp. Tempered glass is commonly used in areas with high safety requirements, such as building facades, automobiles, and interior spaces. Additionally, it is resistant to thermal shock, making it ideal for use in both hot and cold environments.
They are produced by assembling two or more glass plates through a special fixing agent polyvinyl butyral (PVB) layers under heat and pressure. This operation minimizes the risks arising from broken glasses by holding the pieces together if the glass is broken. They are used to protect lives and assets against the external impacts in addition to the injuries arising from accidents. They minimize the risk of getting injured arising from accidents where the people crash on the glasses. They provide security against thee external impacts. They prevent/slow down the attacks with rocks and bats and robbery attempts. They contribute to the acoustic insulation. They restrict ultraviolet (UV) lights which are the reason for the objects and fabrics to fade up to 97%. They are also used for the double-glazing units, therefore heat insulation is also provided in addition to the safety and security. An efficient heat control is provided with the laminated glasses coated with Low-E. We produce tempered, coloured, curved, bullet-resistant and multi-layered glasses according to the needs of our customers in addition to the standars Şişecam Lamine Cam (Bottle Glass Laminated Glass) products. The structures needing to use safety glasses are indicated in the TSE 13433 Glasses Used in the Structures Codes of Practices for Safety Related to Human Crash . As indicated under this standard, those glasses should be especially used for the places where the glass-shattering has dangerous consequences.
